2017 Monash International Leadership Scholarships For Foreign Students Only (Africans can apply))
The Monash International Leadership Scholarships are targeted at those excellent international students who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Monash University.
Applications from students from all countries are invited and countries with strategic priorities for Monash will be given preference. The Monash International Leadership Scholarships is offered to all subject areas except as exempted below.
All the following conditions must be met:
- International student
- Commencing a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia (you must have received a full Monash course offer).
Note: the following students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship:
- Students enrolling in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- Students in Monash Pathway programs (e.g. Monash College and Monash University Foundation Year).
- Students transferring from another Monash campus or applying to Monash from another Australian University.
- Students studying Australian Year 12*.
- Based on academic achievement.
- Students will also be assessed on their scholarship application statement (1000 words) and their potential to be an ambassador for Monash University.

Number of awards
Four scholarships are available for each scholarship round
This scholarship will be for the entire duration of your degree programme. You must maintain a distinction average (70% or above) each semester to retain this scholarship.
100% course fees paid until the minimum number of points for your degree are completed (excludes OSHC, accommodation and living costs).
Method of Application
Scholarships can be applied toward any full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at a Monash campus in Australia, except for MBBS, MBA and the Pathway programs. Before applying for this scholarship, you must have received a full Monash course offer with no conditions.
You must submit a separate application form for this scholarship by the due deadline date indicated below. Do not submit supporting documentation with your application – this will not be considered.

There are 6 Selection Rounds throughout the 2 Semesters – Semester One and Semester Two.
The closing dates for Selection Rounds 1 and 2 are October 15 and November 15 respectively for Semester one or two of the following year. Closing date for Round 3 is January 15 for Semester one or two of the current year. While closing dates for Selection Rounds 4, 5 and 6 are March 15, April 15 and May 15 respectively for Semester two of the current year.
For the 2017/18 academic session, deadlines are 15 January 2017 (for Semester 1 or 2, 2017); March 15 2017, April 15 2017 and May 15 2017 (all for Semester 2, 2017). While for the 2018/19 academic session, deadlines are October 15 2017 and November 15 2017 (for Semester 1 or 2, 2018)
Your admission can be deferred within the same calendar year only.
Recipients of this scholarship may be asked to participate or be profiled in relevant Monash marketing, recruitment and promotional materials and/or events.
